Toilets of the Future - Numi Toilet
July 25, 2014 - Benjamin Dowson
Each and every day, technology is getting more and more advanced. We have smart cars and smart phones, but it looks like now we are getting smart toilets too!
One such example is Kohler’s Numi Toilet, which is a technological marvel in the bathroom.
One thing we may ask is if we can even call this thing a toilet anymore, because it looks like a space-age kitchen appliance more than anything. With a hefty price tag of $6,390, it has incredible features that make this not only a place to dispose of bodily waste, but an entertainment system in and of itself.
Features – What Makes The Numi Toilet so Special?
The toilet is controlled by a full colour touch screen remote control (that comes with a magnetic wall dock to hang it on and a rechargeable battery). Why would your toilet need a remote control, you may ask? To control the plethora of functionalities, of course! Here is a brief list of the functionality on Kohler’s Numi Toilet:
–Motion activated lid and seat
–Built in air drier
–Deodorizer
–Heated seats
–Built in foot warmer that blasts warm air at your feet
–Position, water pressure, and temperature of built in bidet
–Illuminated ambient panels
–Built in speakers (with built in audio, FM radio, and MP3 player connector)
Specifications of the Numi Toilet
Aesthetically, it looks like a white box when closed. It has a width of 36.8 centimeters (14 1/2 inches), a closed height of 45.4 centimeters (17 7/8 inches), and an open height of 91.1 centimeters (36 1/4 inches).
For all the flashy lights and music, the Numi Toilet is actually quite a water efficient toilet to have. It has dual flush functionality which uses either 1.28 gallons per flush (4.8 litres per flush) or 0.6 gallons per flush (2.5 liters per flush). For reference, the standard toilet uses 1.6 gallons per flush.
So if you are looking for a luxury toilet that will allow you to poo in comfort, then look no further than Kohler’s Numi Toilet!
